Level 1 Exam: 

We will be hosting 6 exam slots for students on the 7th & 8th September, Teeling Distillery hosted in 3 rooms with no more than 6 people per room. 


Health and Saftey statement

In order to protect others during these times, candidates are required to wear facemask during the examination. If any candidate feels not well or has symptoms of COVID-19 they are to stay at home and contact info@spiritstraining.com and your examination will be deferred to a future date.


Opt for online exam

If you are not able to travel to the distillery but would like to opt to sit the exam online please select this in the options below, online exams are provided via a third party carrying a supplement fee of €35 per students. Students who opt for an online exam and forget to attend will be charged €90 to resit the online examination. 


Online exam date: 27th September from the  12.00 -13.00hrs 



Please arrive 30mins before your allocated exam time, students will be issued their candidate number which they will need to add to the top of their exam.

  • Rubber/eraser
  • Pencil sharpener 


Assessment Method

The WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits is assessed by a closed-book examination that consists of 30 multiple choice questions, to be completed in 45 minutes. All examination questions are based on the published learning outcomes and the recommended study materials contain the information required to answer these questions. A candidate is required to pass with a minimum mark of 70 percent.


About the WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits Examination

The WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits examination paper consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. Each question has only one correct answer, which should be indicated on a computer-readable answer sheet. The examination invigilator will give the full instructions on how to complete the answer sheet on the day of the examination. Each correctly answered multiple-choice question is worth one mark, and marks are NOT subtracted for incorrect answers
