For individuals new to the subject, this qualification offers a hands-on introduction to the world of spirits. No travel required, packs will be sent in the post and the course completed from the comfort of your work or home office. 

You’ll explore the main styles and types of spirits through sight, smell, and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas.

Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

 

Schedule: 

One Day Course: Day 1: 09.00 - 17.00 Exam: 60 minutes

  • February: 25th  (Exam: 7th March 2025)

  • March: 25th (Exam: 4th April 2025)

  • April: 22nd (Exam: 2nd May 2025)

  • May: 27th (Exam: 6th June 2025)

  • June: 24th (Exam: 4th July 2025)

  • July: 22nd (Exam: 1st August 2025)

  • August: 26th (Exam: 5th September 2025)

  • September: 23rd (Exam: 3rd October 2025)

  • October: 21st  (Exam: 31st October 2025)

  • November: 25th (Exam: 5th December 2025)

  • December: 16th (Exam: 30th December 2025)

 

Spirits 

  • Spirits will be dispatched in 20ml sample packs, this will include spirit samples for the Level 1 Award in spirits. 
  • Sample packs can be shipped worldwide via courier (N.B. Please sign up in good time to allow for shipping / customs services)

Assessment

Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions.

This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The exam will take place online via remote adjudication  

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. The course is delivered online so a participant can learn anywhere in the world as long as we can safely send a sample pack and you have secure, reliable internet connection.

You must be of legal drinking age in the country where you are attending the course to participate in any alcohol tasting. However, this is not a barrier to successfully completing the qualification.
