Irish Whiskey and Spirits Institute
Irish Whiskey and Spirits Institute is a WSET Approved Programme Provider offering a hands-on introduction to the world of spirits & liqueurs through WSET Level 1, 2 & 3 Award in Spirits.
Whether beginner or intermediate, all our students will explore the main styles and types of spirits through sight, smell, and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas.

Online training

Nick expertly led the class through the course content, busting some myths and exploring the key information on each spirit category, including production techniques, labelling and typical characteristics. Tasting and evaluating spirits is a big part of the training, tough job, and this included discussion with Nick and the course participants to fully explore the wide selection of samples presented. A fantastic two days of training which has given me more confidence and knowledge for my role at Clonakilty Distillery and a greater appreciation of the wider spirits family.
Nick is truly passionate about spirits and this was very evident in his approach to teaching this subject. The students enjoyed the classes with Nick and found his style of teaching easy to follow and understand. I look forward to Nicholas returning to the college offering the WSET courses in the coming months.
